The day had finally arrived … the meeting of the Shih Tzu took place at the Lams on April 20.
Lucky, the youngest at the ripe old age of 5 months was the most unpopular one. She was just too active, happy, carefree, (pretty, maybe?), and shall we say … disrespectful to the elder Shih Tzu, namely Ms Abby (at the youthful age of 14) and Ms Molly (half of Ms Abby’s age but still, in human years she is like 50 or something like that, that’s old, right?)
Ms Abby and Ms Molly kept their distance from Lucky, as well as from each other - they’ve been friends forever (7 dog years, again that’s like 50 years to us). That’s the way they’ve been able to keep cordial to each other. We all are sure that they love each other, just not that close physically. Occasionally Ms Abby let out a few growls to warn Lucky as she tried to get too close. Lucky kept kowtowing but that didn’t really work. In the end, she probably learned her lessons - leave those old grumpy ladies alone.

Happy Birthday Abby
Actually, Abby’s birthday was yesterday. It all started with a trip to the airport, seeing grandma off. Then a nap. And then a late night birthday treat.

Get your t-shirts at our online store. Click on picture or click on link in the sidebar to the right.
No, we are not shamelessly selling the t-shirts … it’s just an idea for fun and we don’t expect to sell a lot but any money we make we will donate to the SPCA. In case you are wondering, yes, Lyndon drew the picture.
You are more than welcome to check back later for newer designs. We’re going to put out a version with the tag, “Bee Yourself”. What do you think? Thanks for checking it out!

Given that the number of our blog readers has dwindled from 2 to 0 (that’s right folks we didn’t even read our own blog) since our last post in early January, we thought it’s time for a new post to jump start the blog a little. OK, listen up folks … here are some updates - hold on tight for the roller-coaster ride that our life has become. (yeah …)
1. We still have a job. Lyndon is working feverishly on Monster House (yeah the movie nobody can remember the name of, he must have been asked 10,000 times in the past year ‘what’s the name of that movie you are working on?’). Bad news is he’s working Saturdays until May. Good news is he will be done and we will have a vacation in June, and he is moving on to a ‘real’ non all CG movie finally. I’ve been working from home since last November. I can’t complain at all. I am lucky to have a good job. I’ve travelled for work for a few times in the past couple of months but nothing too demanding.
2. We still enjoy each other’s company, and we still make each other laugh. Not that I am surprised but I had never been with someone for more than 3 years. Lyndon and I have been together for 5 years, married for almost 3 (well 2.5 years). I guess being older and knowing what you want have their advantages. And having low expectations wouldn’t hurt???
3. Haven’t seen a lot of movies lately - what a surprise! ‘Munich’ was good, depressing but thought-provoking. ‘Capote’ was the other movie we liked. Nope, haven’t seen Brokeback Mountain yet. Glad to see ‘Crash’ with some Oscar nods. I have read a couple of those silly books by Sophie Kinsella, and just started ‘In Cold Blood’ last night. I can’t tell you how many books Lyndon has read in the past month - too many to count.
4. Did I mention we are planning a vacation in June? I know … we just took one 5 months ago. This time we want to go somewhere tropical, and just not do anything. No more sightseeing, lugging stuff up and down trains, staying at 5 different hotels type of tough travels. We are thinking of the Cayman Islands in the Carribeans, perhaps try scuba diving. The upside of being DINKS - Double Incomes No Kids.
5. On the not so rosy side … our dog, Ms. Abby has become a druggie unfortunately. She is turning 12 this April. After spending 3 hours at an animal emergency hospital on Chinese New Year’s eve, we got the $500 news from the vet - Ms. Abby has arthritis and pinched nerves in her neck and back. She has to take painkillers and muscle relaxants every few days - they make her very happy.
Also, the Green Monster (moss) has returned on our brick patio in the back, and parts of our house are falling apart. ;-(
That’s all folks … Please, try not to trip over each other while rushing to leave us comments.
