Jane just called me at work.

She said, “You won’t believe what just happened.”

“What?”

I was a little apprehensive. Was it going to be good news or bad news?

It turned out to be freaky news.

She said, “It was just hailing. Omigosh. How would you describe it? Thumbnail size. Cars out there getting dents. Hailing for 2 - 3 minutes. At first I didn’t know what it was. This sound. I thought it was our tree. Then I looked outside. Omigosh. The whole street is covered with white hail. I took pictures and video for you. Should I put some in the freezer for you?”

“Yes!”

September 7 to September 8

Salzburg and Eagle’s Nest album.

Our tour guide up to Eagle’s Nest was a local Austrian who lived in Australia for 23 years. (No Kangaroos in Austria.) Smoked like a chimney. Spoke German and had an Australian accent when he spoke english. There was a rock slide at 11am the day before so there was a delay going up. While we waited we got to tour the bunkers and check out the site of where Hitler’s house used to be.

When we got back to Salzburg we rented bikes and rode around the Old Town, checked out Mozart’s house, and took the funicular up to the Fortress. For dinner we did this Mozart Dinner Concert at this thousand year old restaurant. We sat across from a nice couple from England who was in Salzburg to watch a relative who was in a horse race.
